Dust and Ruin Empty
PostSubject: Dust and Ruin   Dust and Ruin Icon_minitimeMon May 17, 2010 5:23 am

Oliver had meandered his way to the schools rather impressive library. The library spanned on to what seemed to be for miles. Bookshelf's reached the ceiling. The shelves themselves were far overloaded with different types of tomes. They were chock full of novels, class books and compendiums. The order of the books though, was far beyond ruined. Books were just placed haphazardly onto one another. A clear sign of lazy students and an even lazier staff. The shelves looked as if they could collapse at any moment under the weight of the chaotically placed reading material. Oliver shook his head in disgust and disapproval. This will have to change. Being the dean, Oliver could not have the school looking in disarray. He jotted down a quick note " hire librarian, scolder students", and then continued down the aisles of bookshelves. The dust in the area was unbearable. every book and shelf alike was caked with five to six inches of a dark gray dust. Disgusting. Oliver hung his head low, slightly depressed due to the lack of maintenance, as he walked even further down the aisle.

Oliver came upon a door tightly shut. He heard the sound of eating on the other end. Not civil eating though. It's was rather grotesque. He opened the door only to discover a small kolbold demon cannibalizing one of it's own. Oliver sighed as he lifted up his left hand. A dark wave of energy washed over the kolbold, tearing it to shreds, along with his meal.

"Rodents."

The Dean continued to a desk centered in the middle of the room. He sat on the corner of the fine wooden desk. The desk was made of a rather cheap looking wood. He reached into his left breast pocket and removed a rather expensive looking platinum flask. Oliver screwed the top off and took a sip of the harsh whiskey that was inside. As teh whiskey burned down his throat, he placed the cap back on the flask and returned it to it's refuge. Oliver sighed.

"So much work to do...no one to do it."

"Unless you do it," she chimed in, her form lifting from the dust on the shelves. She smirked gently, a soft smile stealing her lips. "Hello, Oliver," she stated the introduction while carrying herself around to the other side of the desk. She ran her hand along the fine oak's surface. "It's beautiful, this library," she mumbled gently, her eyes sweeping over everything. She had been in here many times, and today was one of the days she actually found another wandering soul to spend a bit of time with.

"I noticed you were taking notes upon improvements on the building," she pressed, her form taking steps closer to him. She willed her hand forward, it clasping the silver flash just before it was tucked into his pocket completely. She pulled the top off and inhaled gently, smirking when she closed it and placed it back into the breast pocket. "Good stuff you have there.. I've had better, of course."

She slipped her hands behind of her back, them being clasped just at the small of her back. She rocked on her feet, swaying gently. "And... I'd like to thank you for mentioning me to the school board to be the female Dean. It was very kind of you," she hummed afterward, her hips swaying while she stepped away from the male. She had nothing more to say, really. Her hands found refuge on a string bound book that looked to be near to ashes.

Slightly disturbed by the woman's molestation of his pocket, Oliver watched as she had sniffed the cheap whiskey. He found it funny; the girl had thought his beverage was 'good stuff' when in reality, as harsh whiskey is a common everyday whiskey. He chuckled under his breath. He stood up and looked at the old florescent light bulbs. He withdrew his notebook yet again, as another note needed to be taken. "New light bulbs."

Oliver turned around as he slid his notebook back into it's respectful pocket. "As for the Dean thing, don't worry about it. Lord knows I have killed many a devil in my time. May as well be nice to one for once. But don't let that grind too deep into you, I've killed my fair share of Angels too. I'm sure Daddy told you what my job is. But don't feel threatened, I'm a really nice guy." Oliver walked over to the newly appointed female dean, he looked at the books her hands were holding. "Ah, that's a good one, I read that sometime around the fall of Julius Caesar."

"A poor, pitiful soul he was..." Fayt chimed in as he allowed himself to appear just behind and to the left of the man known as Oliver.

"I rather enjoyed playing with his fate. It was a fun and unique one. And betrayal seemed a fitting fate for him." Fayt smiled as he walked his way toward the male dean, extending his hand in an offer to shake his own. "Fayt Liengod...I'm the new Student Guidance Councelor." He said as he looked over to Chelle and winked at her with a friendly sense of familiarity.

"And congratulations on your new position, Ms. Takeiro." Fayt said with a polite tone in his voice.

Nick phased out of the wall next to Fayt, his trademark sly smile revealing a hint of strong white teeth. "Ah, Caesar, I enjoyed stabbing that pompous old fool" he said, the hint blatant, though no other people besides the Deans would know of his true identity. "I do believe we all know each other now, Dean Rift, Dean Takeiro, Fayt. I'd like your permissions to have the students use lethal force in my class. Needless to say, no matter how grievous the injury, they cannot die while in my care and the best way to simulate harsh combat situations is to engage in one."

With that, he leaned against the wall and waited for their replies, though he expected negative ones. After all, it would be a bit hard for most to trust something soulless and infinite, even under the best of conditions.

Oliver grasped the hand of Fayt. "Nice to meet you. Excuse me, won't you?" He had focused his attention on the third being that came into the room rather annoyingly.

"You know, modern life would be vastly different in lieu of his assassination. His ideas were progressive and ground breaking for his time. He set forth ideas that would of rocked the world to it's knees. I believe that the Roman Empire started it's decline and perpetual fall at the death of Julius. A pompous old fool, he was not. By the way, it's rather annoying when you people appear out of no where. It's rather annoying and border line rude. But since you're here, the lady dean and I were talking about fixing up the school. I will grant you my permission to allow you to have your students to use adequate amounts of lethal force in your class as long as you pick a section of the school and fix it. With hard work. This institute is in shambles. It's like world war three happened here." Oliver chuckled to himself as he walked towards and reached out his hand for his. "I'm sorry if I seem harsh, but I only wish that this school becomes the well oiled machine that I envision. To do that, full cooperation and teamwork will ne needed."

"Perhaps, though as someone who knew the man, I'd have to say he was rather overbearing." he said, responding to Oliver's interpretation of historical possibilities. "As for my means of traversing the school, I'll admit it can be a bit unnerving, though it's a bit irritating to walk from one side of the world to the other after taking care of some business. I can have the library clean in a few hours, if you'll allow me to."

He shook his hand again, and said, "don't worry about how your message is taken, I understand what you're going to need get done in your new role as Dean, and you've got my support should you have need of it."

"Hmm. I can see where you're coming from, the school is rather larger. I don't care how to traverse the school, just don't do that around me, please. I'd prefer a bit more proper knock at a door or a simple 'May I interrupt?' instead of that weird thing you do. I don't want to scold, but I doubt we'd want the students picking up the sometime rude habits of their teachers and leaders to use within their life or even on us. Quite frankly I would be offended. You have 24 hours to clean the library out. Don't finish in four. I want to be able to eat off the floor. A word of note, there are cannibalistic kolbolds around. Please exterminate them in orderly fashion. Oh and Nicholas, thank you for supporting me."

Oliver walked back to his resting place on the desk, withdrew his note book and tossed his notes to Nicholas.

"While I have you all here, I want updates and reports on students every 48 hours. The lady dean would like these reports as well, I'm sure. I would like to entertain the idea that we will have weekly meetings, kind of like this impromptu one, just more formal. Please spend the word to the other teachers and faculty."

The Dean focused his attention to Dean Takeiro, his blue eyes looking her over approvingly. "I have come to understand that you have been on Pandora Island the longest. Could you recommend me a fine restaurant? Also if it's not too brash, I would like to ask if you would escort and have a sit down dinner with me there. A bit of a Dean introductory dinner, if you will."

"I'll refrain from 'phasing' in your presence then, though I'd like to note that I do walk when students are present, since this is a rather high level ability and a dead giveaway as to what I am, which should naturally be a secret to all but you two. As for the Library, I'll be using some help of mine."

He whipped his right hand to the side and almost instantly, black ethereal energies began to appear from the floor, twelve vertically rising streams of dark energy that rapidly began to take on human forms. Six turned into the figures of young women, and the other six began to form the familiar shape of strong men. They were all very statuesque, appearing as if they were the inspiration of the Greek sculptures that captivated the modern world with their beauty. The woman closest to Lord Nicholas, her striking face framed by the same silvery hair of Death walked to his side, and glanced at him reprovingly.

"My lord, it has been quite a while since I've seen you, almost two hundred years," she said, her melodic voice echoing off the walls quite easily.

"Indeed it has, my lady, though in my defense, I did leave you in the greatest palace in the Elysian Fields with everything you could want while I did that which I am required to do," came his reply, the smile growing on his face genuine.

She sighed, and shook her head in a scolding fashion, though her own smile followed soon after. "Shall we, then?" she asked, motioning towards the dusty shelves and unkempt books.

He nodded, and he looked to the rest of the staff of his Elysian palace in Hades. "Help her organize the place, please," he said, and he turned to Fayt. "Shall we take care of the pests, M? I think it'd be far more entertaining than the brawl we're no doubt going to have to deal with eventually."

Fayt fidgeted uncomfortably...He had be scolded. He couldn't recall ever being scolded before. This was an all new feeling to him.

"Yeah, I-I guess I can cut that out." Fayt muttered, still surprised that someone he controlled the fate of would respond so defiantly toward him. Mentally slapping himself, he refocused his attention back to the two gentlemen and the lady in front of him. "I'm sorry, I kinda lost myself for a second there. Distractions and what not."

He watched as Nicholas summoned some aid from the darkness and as they got to work cleaning up the ruined library. "Yeah, we'll deal with the kolbolds. They're cannibalistic you say? Hmm..Well let's see if I can arrange them all to have a fated meeting with each other."

With that, Fayt closed his eyes and began to focus on the life forces of all the undesired rodents in the library.

Oliver could see that Fayt was disturbed and generally uncomfortable from his minor scolding. Oliver figured that it was Fayt's first time being spoken harshly to. The Dean knew of Fayt and his powers. He knew that Guidance Counselor was the one to inevitably control his fate, yet that didn't matter. He knew that this job would be hard, so in his eyes, all of the faculty was equal. No amount of magical power or Godliness would change that. What had to be done, was done.

"Thank you for your help, Mr. Leingod. Or should I call you just Fayt? Your preference."

Chelle had been so engrossed in the novel she had caressed in her gentle grasp, that even the bit of show from 'death' was ignored. The only thing she caught, was the request for a restaurant, and if she would join Oliver there. She had looked up long enough from the book to nod and smile, yet it was after everyone had finished going on about something to do with Julius Caesar..

"Of course I do.. maybe, six o'clock, hm? I can meet you out front before we head out." She smiled sweetly to Oliver and placed the book back onto the shelf. "It's good to see you both, Liengod, Grimmholt." She smiled to the both of them and moved her hand to gently brush it over Oliver's shoulder. It was a sign for him to follow her. She had noticed the clock and it was already nearer to five. She needed to freshen up just a bit.

"Well, I believe I'm going to go change, and mayhaps, you should too, Oliver. The restaurant is of a high class level." She started to leave, but did no such thing. Her hips were swaying gently, her hair shifting against her back as she moved.

The Dean followed the girl, a slight smile crossing his lips. He waved back at the two gentlemen that lay behind him. "Until we meet again, sirs". Oliver was pleasantly surprised that Chelle had decided to join him in the affirmative. He stood face to face with her, her sweet sent circling his nose. "Six then? Something nice, huh? I'll see what I can do." With that, Oliver moved passed the fair woman into the library again. He headed for his meager room to change for tonight's event.
